This workshop is an introductory session for participants who have never used SELFIE. For 60 minutes, SELFIE team members will help attendees experience the SELFIE tool as seen from the school coordinator’s point of view.

Target audience: School leaders, teachers, researchers and school leader, teachers and anyone interested in understanding how to set up a SELFIE session.

Structure of the workshop

We will explore and learn how to:

  • Register a school and create a SELFIE school account
  • Set- up a SELFIE exercise
  • Customize questionnaires
  • Take a look at the SELFIE results. 

Previously to the workshop, participants are invited to register on the SELFIE platform here and activate a DEMO account.  Useful instructions can be found here.

When creating your account, please include the word DEMO in the name of the school you are going to use, and remember to bring your credentials (username and password) to the workshop.

Room 2: Develop your digital action plan (part I)

This workshop will provide you an opportunity to work collaborative with other participants to develop a digital action plan after using the SELFIE tool focusing mainly in the eight areas of the SELFIE tool. The focus will be identifying potential challenges and solutions on how to effectively empower a school through enhancing the digital capacity. Participants will have an active role and will collaborate to create a guide with tips, advice and experiences on how to develop a digital action plan for the school.

The two hour workshop, will be based on a participatory leadership model to enable collaboration between participants.

This workshop aims to provide inspiration but also practical ideas to schools on how they can use SELFIE to develop their digital capacity. The workshop will focus on the following topics:

    • Collaboration and networking on schools’ digital planning (R4Change)
    • A pedagogical Toolkit, SELFIE helper and a MOOC on how to develop an action PLAN (SHERPA Project)
    • How to get the most from SELFIE action planning with Digital Schools Awards (ASELFIE project)

Best practices of SELFIE use – Experiences from EU-Funded projects (Room 4 / 14:45- 15:45)

The workshop will bring in experiences, ideas and inspiration from the use of SELFIE in the context of EU-funded projects (ERASMUS Plus forward looking and Horizon 2020). The workshop is designed to offer some practical advice to participants on how to use SELFIE to develop their digital strategy by establishing collaborations with other schools, with other stakeholders and using material and resources the Erasmus Plus projects have prepared.

Target audience: School leaders, teachers, policy makers, researchers, technology and digital education experts.

Structure of the workshop

Introduction and short explanation about the three key topics that will be explored in the workshop

Why a school based approach is important for the integration of digital technologies in the school practice (Mensi project)

Break out rooms with the following themes.

  • SELFIE as a tool for schools to celebrate their achievements employing peer learning and using the help of critical friends
  • SELF reflection for School collaboration with external stakeholders and the society
  • Resources supporting schools to use SELFIE: Pedagogical toolkit, MOOC and SELFIE helper

Digital planning and digital learning in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis (Room 4 / 15:45- 16:45)

This workshop aims to engage participants in a discussion about the use of digital technologies in the wake of the Covid -19 crisis. We will explore ideas regarding strategies on technology use as a response to the recent public health crisis and as a way to move forward leveraging on the progress already done and addressing the challenges. In the workshop we will also have the opportunity to explore these issues from the view point of the school leaders, ICT coordinators and from the view point of the students.

  • We encourage the participation of students in the workshop who would like to share their experience with us.
